Sustainability is high on the agenda here at Orkla. We want to take our share of responsibility and contribute to solving the global health and sustainability challenges.
Sustainable growth is the new norm for business. As a large Nordic company, we at Orkla have a responsibility to lead the way in our industry. In good company with Global Compact businesses worldwide, we put the UN’s 2015 new global goals for sustainable development on the agenda. Our CEO, Peter A. Ruzicka, has signed a personal commitment to the UN sustainability goals.
Our desire to take our share of responsibility includes developing healthier foods, reducing food waste and launching new products that represent good environmental choices in everyday life.
We have been involved in rainforest protection for a number of years and work purposefully to avoid using raw materials that contribute to deforestation in Orkla products.
Our sustainability strategy sets clear targets for our work up to 2025 and emphasises five main areas where Orkla’s efforts will be important both for society and our long-term value creation:
– Nutrition and health
– Safe products
– Sustainable procurement
– Environmental commitment
– Caring for people and society
